Gene Evaro Jr. w/ Upstate Rubdown
Saturday, October 13 @ 9:00 pm - 12:30 am
This band from Joshua Tree is blazing through the collective consciousness from coast to coast. Gene Evaro Jr. is a virtuoso guitarist with a voice drenched in honey, a timeless spirit and one-of-a-kind charisma.
His band (which happens to include one of the most bad ass female bassists you’ve ever seen) is a multi-limbed organism tapped in to soul, R&B aphrodisia, shimmering rock and funky grooves. They have brought the house down each time they’ve played the Crazy Horse. Evaro’s stage presence and seductive sound draw inspiration from legends like Prince and Marvin Gaye.
As if it wasn’t awesome enough already just to have Gene Evaro Jr., we are thrilled to introduce Upstate Rubdown. All the way from upstate New York, this seven piece band invites audiences on a magic carpet of Appalachian soul.
Burning hot with irresistible three part harmonies from a trio of female vocalists, you’ve never seen anything quite like this. The funky acoustic grooves framing these captivating original songs make this music extra danceable and warrant uninhibited rejoicing.
