Gene Evaro Jr.
Friday, April 12 / 10:00 pm-12:30 am

Every time Gene Evaro Jr. plays the Crazy Horse, we feel like it might be the last because they have all the makings of a band skyrocketing to much bigger frontiers. If it’s not enough for Gene Evaro Jr. to be a scorching guitarist and keyboardist, he also has a voice drenched in honey, one-of-a-kind charisma and the infectious spirit of a natural born entertainer. His band is a multi-limbed organism tapped in to funky soul, R&B aphrodisia and shimmering rock. Churning out mostly original material, they are locked so tight into the ever-present groove, even James Brown would approve. In the comfortable confines of the Crazy Horse, they have a tendency to let loose like nowhere else.
Diminutive in stature but huge in prowess, bassist Piper Robison is a performer so funky and fluid, it’s hard to take your eyes off of her. The recent addition of two female back-up singers has catapulted the sound into a realm that is almost too good to be true. At the center of it all, Evaro’s stage presence, seductive sound and keen fashion sense bring Prince to mind. This is a show where you’ll walk away tingling from head to toe.
