Jessica Malone & Red Dirt Ruckus
Friday, January 18, 2019 / 9:30 pm-1:00 am
Jessica Malone has one of those voices that whisks you away on a cloud of enchantment. The soulful songstress creates a one of a kind sound that blends rootsy Americana with elements of folk, rock, bluesy soul and jazz. Her lyrics evoke a sense of wanderlust, self discovery and overall positivity. Her unfiltered approach to songwriting creates music that will take you back in time, while her heartfelt lyrics keep you rooted in the present. She is accompanied by a band of talented musicians who will have the dancefloor rocking. They’ll be celebrating the release of their CD which features tracks recorded live at the Crazy Horse just over a year ago.
Placerville’s Red Dirt Ruckus have rapidly been building a reputation as one of the most exciting bands on the regional scene. Fueled by stellar musicianship, they are pioneering a sound that is all their own. Their unique instrumentation features violin, mandolin, guitar, trombone, tuba, drums and bass. Their freewheeling approach draws from the well of acoustic Americana as well as New Orleans style funk. Whatever they’re playing, it always reflects a joyous spirit. Their ambitious songwriting is on full display along with covers of songs we never imagined could be interpreted with such a fresh perspective. They will close out the night with a set starting around 11:30.
