Bone Diggers: The Songs of Paul Simon
w/ Jonny Mojo Band
May 25 @ 7:30 pm - 1:00 am| $20
Brought to us from the brilliant, innovative mind of bassist/vocalist Reed Mathis (Electric Beethoven, Golden Gate Wingmen), this is a passion project reflecting the love so many of us share for the music of Paul Simon. Expect to hear many of Simon’s most influential compositions interpreted through an improvisational kaleidoscope in ways you’ve never imagined. This lineup is bursting with some of the Bay Area’s finest talent including guitarist/vocalist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz (ALO, Phil Lesh & Friends), keyboardist/vocalist Danny Eisenberg (The Mother Hips), drummer Scott Rager (Tea Leaf Green) and guitarist Clay Welch (Electric Beethoven). Opener: Jonny Mojo Band
Like the Willy Wonka of the guitar, Jonny Mojo is here to dish out copious volumes of ear candy. Along with his Achilles Wheel band mate Gary Campus on drums, Dan “Mad Monk” Abbott on bass (The Rusty Buckets, Red Dirt Ruckus) and Jordan Feinstein on ferocious keys (Stu Allen and Mars Hotel), this band has set the controls for the heart of the sun. They’ll be kicking the night off early with soul-liberating, Grateful Dead-inspired jam-rock along with bluesy, rootsy, psychedelic, Americana picking. Basically about as good a time as you can have on a Friday night with your clothes on.
