Ron Artis II & The Truth
w/ Juliet Gobert Trio

Friday, November 15 / 8:30 pm-1:00 am

/ $15 – $20

When people compare live music to a religious experience, this is the kind of thing they’re referring to. Coming to us all the way from the islands of Hawaii, it is no exaggeration to assert that Ron Artis II and The Truth are one of the most inspiring new bands on the scene today. It is just about impossible not to be in awe as they tap in to a bottomless well of passion and emotional intensity on stage. Festival audiences at Hangtown Halloween and High Sierra – as well as a recent capacity crowd at the Crazy Horse – can attest to the awesome power wielded by this classic power trio. One moment they are taking you on a trip down to the crossroads with a primal output of timeless blues. The next they are sending you soaring on a cloud of bliss as they pour their hearts out on the most soulful, funky, blues-rock imaginable.

Drawing from an impressive catalog of all-original material, Artis II’s overwhelmingly positive message carries a profound resonance. Bubbling forth from his heart like a Hawaiian wellspring, his virtuoso guitar playing rings into the airwaves with disarming clarity and sincerity. You’ll think of legends like Jimi Hendrix and Gary Clark Jr., yet have no doubt you are bearing witness to the rise of a hero for the new generation. While Artis II naturally draws much of the focus, his bandmates are tremendous in their own rite. His brother Stevon Artis performs heroic feats on his drum kit. Bassist Ernie Ecreala lays down the thunder with the most infectious smile on his face. If this band continues on their current trajectory, there is no limit to what they can achieve. Don’t miss the opportunity to see them in such an intimate setting while you still can!

The Juliet Gobert Trio consists of three heroes of the local music scene. Juliet is a mesmerizing singer and songwriter with  the stage presence of a goddess warrior. She draws from the Joni Mitchell well of inspiration. Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Bob Woods is a living legend who keeps things fresh, pulling rabbits out of his hat on a regular basis. Homer Wills is a showstopper on the harmonica and a powerful blues singer to boot. Together the three delve into back porch Americana, bluesy folk and  unfettered soul.
