Bicycle Day Celebration
Friday, April 19 / 9:45 pm-1:00 am
When Albert Hoffman took that kaleidoscopic bike ride through Basel, Switzerland on April 19, 1943, he probably would have appreciated a band like The Higgs providing the soundtrack. We couldn’t hope for a more appropriate band to help us celebrate Bicycle Day. This So. Cal juggernaut weaves a tapestry of funky electro jam rock, psychedelic southern blues, galactic jazz and progressive reggae into what they like to refer to as Cosmic California Rock. Combined with the dazzling effects of their otherworldly light show, the original music of The Higgs welcome audiences into an alternate dimension of improvisation where the sum is far greater than its parts. This stuff is powerful enough to fill an arena. We’re lucky to see it in such an intimate venue which the band considers as a home away from home.
