Grease, Grit & Grime – Early Bird Blues

Back in February, Grease, Grit and Grime returned to the Crazy Horse for the first time in many years. It was quite a homecoming for this beloved local band. We had so much fun, we had them back in June. They have been warmly embraced by blues connoisseurs all over Nevada County for the better part of two decades. GGG refer to their sound as, “Dirty Blues,” but it goes down smooth like a mint julep on a sunny afternoon. When it comes to the sultry, dance-inducing side of the blues equation, you can be sure they have that covered. Harp maestro Scott Hickman is the band’s figurehead, but every component of this quartet – Seth Miner on guitar and vocals, Hayes Burris on bass and Reid Alan Kurks on drums – is vital to its powerful impact. Who would’ve thunk that the blues can make you so happy?
