Jennifer Hartswick Band
Monday, March 18 / 9:00 pm-12:00 am
We are proud to announce what we feel is one of the most exciting performances in the illustrious history of the Crazy Horse Saloon. On a Monday night in March, it’s without an ounce of exaggeration we tell you about the opportunity to witness one of the most dazzling vocalists in the world in this legendary, intimate venue. Jennifer Hartswick isn’t a person that can be defined by any simple label like “vocalist,” “trumpeter” or “bandleader.” She is truly a force of nature, exuding an otherworldly confidence and radiance. Her fully actualized talent and luminescent spirit take flight every time she sets foot on stage.
If you saw the Jennifer Hartswick Band at the Sugar Pine Festival in Grass Valley in October, you too were likely in a state of utter amazement as her voice soared into the stratosphere while her incredible band seduced the crowd with a fluid mix of soul, R&B, jazz and rock. Every song is laden with “WOW” moments where the listener can’t deny they are in the presence of true greatness.
Jennifer is an original member of the Trey Anastasio Band who became the right-hand woman and creative muse for the Phish bandleader at the age of 20. Touring with TAB – as well as Trey’s unicorn, one-off project – Ghosts of the Forest – Jennifer has left an indelible impression on millions of fans. Seeing and listening to her perform, she has a relatability where you can’t help but feel like you love her as a person and a musician. She has also relished the honor of either recording or sharing the stage with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Phish, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Carlos Santana, Dave Matthews, Aaron Neville, Umphrey’s McGee, Christian McBride and Big Gigantic.
She will be bringing a bona fide super group to the Crazy Horse featuring two members of The Nth Power! Nicholas Cassarino has been a longtime collaborator on guitar. He is an absolute monster player with a jazz-funk acumen well-honed from many years leading his band The Nth Power. This cat is eminently tasteful and has an almost superhuman ability to ramp up the intensity in any moment on a dime. Bassist Nate Edgar (John Brown’s Body) is one of the funkiest humans alive. He will pull you into his womb of velvety grooves from the first note and never let go.
Jennifer’s live performances are renowned as spontaneous, joyful and unifying. Her natural charisma and sincerity shines through as a celebration of musical collaboration. Whether she is wailing on the trumpet or singing an intimate vocal solo, her performance is all part of a single seamless instrument; one that is played not only with astounding technical proficiency, but also with sensitivity, conviction and heart. Very few people will have the opportunity to be present for this instant entry into the Crazy Horse Hall of Fame, so get ready to grab your tickets the moment they go on sale!
