Lavender Fields w/ DJ K. Bueno

Thursday, June 27 / 9:30 pm-1:15 am

/ $10

Lavender Fields is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer based in Nor Cal. Her captivating, genre-bending live electronica experience is created as she fuses analog hardware with the innovations of electronic music guided by the intention to heal. With a unique cultural background and her own stories of resilience, compassion is the foundation of her art.

The creator’s journey began with her roots in classical music and has since alchemized with many of her inspirations, from the mystical classical compositions of Tchaikovsky to the timeless reggae beats of Bob Marley. Flying Lotus’ experimental electronica inspired Lavender Fields to explore, create and fuse synthesized sounds, pushing boundaries of what’s sonically possible. Recreating the formula that worked so well last year for her Crazy Horse debut, she’ll be playing with a trio featuring a sax player and one of our favorite local drummers, David Lee (Moody Cat).

Lavender Fields’ ultimate goal in music is to share a positive message with the world. Her passion for the environment is also expressed through her project, “Light Up the World,” where she plants lavender in every city she visits. Her notable festival appearances include: Sonic Bloom, Cascadia, Arise, Tribal Vision, Fly Up Reggae Fest, Soultruistic and Lucidity.

Getting the party started and keeping it going until it can go no further, DJ K. Bueno is uniquely equipped to fulfill such a role. He has rapidly risen to the gold standard of the Nevada City EDM scene. He’s like a bolt of lightning, striking every dancefloor with a matrix of seductive energy before people even know what hit them. He specializes in pulsing Latin beats, electro cumbia flow and funky fusion. He also busts out wicked cool remixes of songs you know and love. K. Bueno is a chameleon who adapts to any setting and vibe with seemingly effortless fluidity. Operating from deep in the zone, his laser-focused approach erases all inhibitions and unites people in the universal language of dance.
